FRIDAY!!

Well its FRIDAY! You know what that means...its the weekend! 2 full days of hanging out with Chad and Kyndall.

This morning we started the day off by taking Kyndall back to the doctor for the follow up to our ER visit last week. She has lost at least 7oz, so we're back down to either just under or right at 18lbs. The doctor said her ears were about 75% clear but with almost another full week of antibiotics, she should be back to 100% by the time the antibiotic is done. He wasn't worried about the weight lost and said her appetite will pick back up once her ears are completely clear and shes done with her medicine.

Today wasn't such a bad day at work. When I got there, I had 7 kids in my class, and today, they were sleepy! I still had every child asleep at 3:05! Now, by this time, I only had 6 because one had left early, but still! One went home around 3:15 and another woke up with fever so he was picked up around 3:30, leaving me with 4. The other 2 year old class came over, and we pulled out the shaving cream and had a ball for about 30 min.

After work, Kyndall and I headed out to Hobby Lobby to pick up some material so I can try my hand at making a pillowcase dress.

I picked out a really cute white fabric with purple, green, and teal blue flowers. I'm kind of excited and nervous about making one, but they don't look too hard to make. However, if I can't seem to get it, I do have a friend who can. You should check her out on Etsy! Shes just getting started, but here is a link to her page.
Tomorrow Chad is taking his THEA test for school. I'm not sure what Kyndall and I will do while he is taking it, but I'm hoping it will involve some sleeping. I'm also pretty sure we'll go to the grocery store to get some WIC items for the month before they expire and get some things for breakfast on Sunday. I'm still not sure what we're going to take. Should we take homemade donuts or homemade cinnamon rolls? Chad's mom is also going to be in town so I'm sure we're going to get together with her and his grandfather sometime during the day.

Sunday is church and then probably just hanging out at home the rest of the day.
I'm starting to get Spring Fever so that we can take Kyndall to the park and have some outside time. I know she wanted to go outside today because she would race to the door every time we opened it and would try to get passed us, but it was too cold and wet to let her play.
What are your plans for the weekend?

First Ever "Not Me Monday"

OK, so thanks to the same friend who got be obsessed with Kelly's Korner got me into reading My Charming Kids by MckMama.

I've been reading MckMama's blog for a while now and decided to try my hand at what she calls "not me Monday" so bare with me as I try this for the first time.

I didn't tell a couple of my friends from Arkansas they could stay with us for a night or 2 before talking to my husband. Nope, not me, I always talk to my husband before making plans.

I am not really upset with the USPS for not delivering a package yet that a friend in Houston sent last Tuesday. Nope, not me, I don't get upset about things like that, especially when she paid for 2 day delivery. From Houston to a little town about 5 hours away.

I don't look forward to nap time every week day so I can blog and chat with my other mommy friends and not worry about a little someone climbing up me all the time. Nope not me, I love having Kyndall climb up in my lap and bang on my computer and open windows to things I've never seen before.

I am not currently laying on the floor in my classroom typing this because I don't like sitting in teeny tiny chairs and little bitty short tables. Nope, not me.

I'm not completely confident in myself with this blog and that I did what I was supposed to. Nope not me, I never second guess myself on anything.

OK, so what'd you think? Any of you regular "Not Me Monday" people have any suggestions?

Picture Me Monday

This is Kyndall's newest obsession. Sitting in the laundry basket. We can put one of our normal rectangle ones down on the ground, and shes happily sitting in it in about 2 seconds flat. Now granted daddy had to put her in this one since its a taller one, but at the rate shes climbing, it won't be long before she can get in this one by herself.

TGIF

Thank goodness for Friday! I'm so glad this week is over, well at least almost over.
The week started out fine. Monday was my birthday; we hired a sitter, and Chad and I went out. Tuesday, Kyndall woke up with a cough, but I didn't think much of it and headed off to our play date with Julie and Salem.
However, after talking to some other moms and looking some things up online, I was pretty sure Kyndall had croup, so I called her nurse and told her what was going on. She said it sounded like croup based on what I described and to call back first thing in the morning to make an appointment for Kyndall to see the doctor. She also told me what to do if Kyndall's cough was real bad during the night. We only had to take her outside once so she could breathe in some cold fresh air.
Wednesday, I woke up early and called the doctor and got an early appointment. Yep, it was croup. He wrote us a prescription for a steroid and gave us some cough suppressant and sent us on our way.
Well, we thought we were on the road to recovery, but we were wrong. Yesterday her fever spiked pretty high; she wasn't eating or drinking like normal, was super fussy and clingy, and just plan didn't feel well. So since her fever was so high and the Tylenol Chad had given her didn't help with the fever, we packed up and headed to the ER.
They did a chest and neck x-ray(to check the croup), and determined she has an ear infection, (which she didn't have Wednesday morning) and that was what caused her fever to spike like it did. They gave her a shot and sent us home with an antibiotic and told us to follow up with her doctor in 3-4 days.
Hopefully soon, we will be able to get Kyndall feeling like herself again. I hate seeing her like this and not being able to do much to help her.

Happy Birthday?

Well, today I turn 26. I am more than half way to 50. I am on the down hill slide to 30. I feel OLD! Now, I know to some people 26 is still a baby and that some others never make it to 26. I guess I should feel blessed that God has given me 26 years.
I didn't do a lot for my birthday. I did have to go to work. Today was also Kyndall's Valentine party because the daycare postponed them due to the "snow day" on Friday. After work, Chad and I fed Kyndall and cleaned up the house a bit. We had gotten a sitter so that Chad and I could go on an adult only date.
It wasn't anything special. We went to Newk's. I knew Chad couldn't tell me "no" on my birthday. He's not a huge fan of Newk's, but I like it.
After we finished dinner, we headed over to Old Navy. We went looking for pants for me, but ended up getting Kyndall a St. Patty's Day shirt instead. (Isn't that the "norm?" Go for something for you and get something for your child instead? HA!)
After Old Navy, we hit up Office Depot. I know, romantic, right? LOL. We went because I needed a mouse pad since I got a new mouse.
I told you we didn't do alot!

Picture Me Monday

Look at me grow! These pictures were taken almost 13 months apart. Its so fun to see how much Kyndall has grown!

This picture was taken the day we came home from the hospital. Jan. 2, 2009. She weighed approximately 4 lbs 10oz and was 17in. long.

Here's Kyndall on Feb. 12, 2010. She weighs a little over 18lbs and is around the 26.5in. mark for length. Its so amazing to see how much more of the bed she takes up from just 13 1/2 months ago! Don't they grow up so fast?!

Valentine's Day 2010

This may not have been Kyndall's first Valentine's day, but it was certainly the first one she could enjoy. Well, I mean come on, last year for Valentine's Day, she was only a month and a half old. However, we did see our first smile from her one year ago today!

Here are some pictures from the day:

Kyndall and her new love bug. Its taller than she is!

Kyndall and mommy! I can turn the screen on my camera so I could see what I was taking, and Kyndall loved being able to see the "other" baby in the screen.
(Also, if you look close at my ear, you can see my new earrings that I got for Valentine's and my birthday.)

We got Kyndall a Valentine's cupcake today from The Butcher Shop, and I think she enjoyed it!

Before:
After:
Chad also got me some chocolate covered strawberries. Kyndall got in on the action with those too. However, she wasn't so sure about the chocolate. Here she is about the chow down!

Here is what I got for Valentine's day!
A dozen chocolate covered strawberries:

Flowers! For the first time in 3 years!

Since my birthday falls the day after Valentine's Day, I told Chad before we even got married that if he was going to combine these two "gift giving" holidays, he'd have to get something sparkly. This year, he didn't disappoint! He got me diamond earrings! Which I have been wanting for a while.

We also got a cookie from The Great American Cookie Company. It wasn't this exact one, but it did say the same thing. (I forgot to take a picture of the actual one before I started eating it. HA!)

Finally Friday

YES! Its finally Friday! However, like a lot of people here in town and surrounding areas, I had to go to work. Today, total, in the whole daycare, including Kyndall, there were 27 kids signed in. By the time Kyndall and I got there though, there were only 24. Yes, 3 kids left between the time we opened to the time I got there at 11:40 this morning.
Why so few children you ask? Well because you remember the snow I talked about yesterday? Well, it didn't stop. It just kept going and going and going.
Here are a few pictures from today:
This one was taken of the tree across the street from our house at about 6:15 this morning. Why was I awake at that time? Well, let me tell you. Kyndall woke up at 4:45 this morning and refused to go back to sleep. Until about 6 that is. And by that time, Chad and I were so awake that we couldn't go back to sleep, so we decided to take some snow pictures before Kyndall woke up again(at 7 I might add).

OK, so don't laugh at my pathetic attempt at a snowman. I live in Texas. I had no clue what I was doing. I had a good base, but the snow wouldn't pack well enough to get the next two layers so they got pretty small and unproportinal to the base. His eyes are Hershey Kisses and his nose is half a Kit Kat. HA! Kyndall wasn't so sure about him!

Look! Almost 7 inches of snow in our front yard! This was around 7:45 this morning. When I measured it last night before we went to bed(around 10:45/11) it was only 3 inches. Now 7 inches may not seem like a lot for you people in the north, but to us Texans, 7 inches is A LOT!
Now, this next picture has nothing to do with snow or the lack of a snow day for me, but we got a package today from my secret pal!
We got some cute Valentine's socks, bows and clips, an adorable popscicle dress, a Valentine's shirt(which Kyndall will probably wear on Monday to her Valentine's party since it was postponed due to so few children), a plate, and some silverware.

2.11.2010

SNOWY Thursday!

Yes, you read that right! We got snow today! Here in East Texas, we got snow! Can you believe it? I really couldn't either until I looked out my window this morning and there was some on the ground, and that was at 8:45 this morning. However, Chad sent me a text message at 7:30 to say it was snowing. Here it is, a little after 10 at night, and its STILL SNOWING!

To bad its not cold enough for things to freeze over and have the schools close tomorrow so we can have a long weekend. The roads are wet, but because its still above freezing, its not icing over enough to cancel. So far most of the schools in the area have delayed opening until 10AM. I don't have to be at work until noon so if we're delayed, it won't really affect me. However, if the daycare is closed or delayed, Valentine's parties are going to be moved to Monday. Either way, I'm going to take Kyndall early so she can go to her first Valentine's party!

Here are some pictures from today:

Kyndall wasn't to sure of the white stuff on the ground.
She did touch it if I held it up for her, but she wouldn't have much to do with it on the ground.
These are from tonight after we got home from dinner and a Target run.

Chad had plenty of clean(er) snow in the back of his truck so we put Kyndall in the bed so she could "play" in it the snow some more.
We made a Kyndall sized snow man! Chad said he'd build a bigger one tomorrow from the snow in the yard since we didn't venture into the yard tonight.

Hopefully Longview ISD will close tomorrow and we can have a snow day! (But I highly doubt that'll happen. They are still the only school district in our county that hasn't made the official announcement for a delay or closing for tomorrow.)

Picture Me Monday

Here is my little Valentine! I was trying to get a good picture of her in the tutu, but she just kept walking or crawling away. Her face is like "Just wait one more second and I won't be here for you to get this picture!" Which was very true.

Super Sunday

Kyndall and I went to a Super Bowl party last night. We didn't watch much of the game[nor am I to sure of the final score], but I do know the Saints won! Way to geaux!

Here are some pictures of what Kyndall did for most of the night. I pretty much just kept up with her and caught up some with friends.

Kyndall found the Firetruck riding toy, and decided to ride it backwards. Which is really funny because she can only go backwards on the riding toys so if you were looking at her from the front of the toy, she'd be coming right at you forward! She also has a mouth full of cookie.
Here she is in the kid kitchen with a couple of the other kids at the party. She was the youngest girl. Well, almost the youngest one there. There was a little boy who is younger than her there, but he didn't do much playing.

Here she is showing off her walking skills, and her shirt and bow. I made the shirt and my business partner made the bow.

This is the back of Kyndall's shirt. The "30" is because she was born on December 30th. She really enjoyed this play cube thing. We may have to invest in one of these!

She also really enjoyed playing in the kitchen. I guess shes trying to be like her daddy! Chad enjoys being in the kitchen too.

Who are you cheering for?

OK, so I must admit that I look forward to the Puppy Bowl more than I do the actual Super Bowl.

But if I have to pick a team from the actual "big game" I'd pick the New Orleans Saints. Not that I care which team wins or loses. So which team are you cheering for?
The Saints...

...or the Colts?

Tonight Kyndall and I are going to a Super Bowl party at one of my friend's house. This will be mine and Kyndall's first "official" Super Bowl party. Now, I have been to a few church youth group parties, but this is the first time I have gone to some one's house with the main entertainment being the game. Last year Kyndall was too young to really care, or do much of anything for that matter. Not that she'll really care this year, but she'll have fun playing with the other kids (or at least I hope she will!)

2.05.2010

Finally Friday!

Hooray! Its Friday! That means in just a little under 4 hours, its the weekend! And you know what? We have NOTHING planned!
Chad's grandmother will probably be moving into her new house this weekend so we may go and help her, Chad's aunt and uncle get things into the new house. However, other than that, we really don't have much going on. We'll probably just lounge around the house and do house work- laundry, dishes, cleaning- you know BORING stuff, but that's ok, we don't really have the money to go and do anything anyways.
To bad its supposed to be cold this weekend other wise maybe we could go to the park. Oh well, its good to stay at home and do nothing sometimes.
Oh, have you helped with the relief efforts in Haiti yet? You haven't? Well you should! Its so easy! You can text "Haiti" to 90999 to donate $10 to the Red Cross, you can text "KLOVE" to 20222 to donate $10 to Food for the Hungry, or you can donate blood at your local Red Cross.

2.04.2010

We're on the move!

Kyndall says "Forget crawling! Walking is for me!"

When I put Kyndall down, she used to go into a sitting position and crawl for a bit before she'd get up and walk, but not anymore. I can put her down and she takes off across the room!

Yesterday at daycare, her teacher told me it wouldn't be long before she was moved from the crib to a big girl mat on the floor. [When the little ones transition from the baby room to the young toddler room, they start out in a crib until they are walking.]

Here are some pictures of her on the move!

When she first started out, she either had to have nothing in her hands, or something in both to balance. I love the look of concentration on her face and her tongue hanging out!

We were trying to get some pictures of her for my business, K&E Darlin Designs, but she wouldn't sit still. Or sit for that matter. LOL!
