I want to be a Big Loser

A big weight loser that is! If you remember the other day, I talked about Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred.

Well, I started a blog to help me keep up with my weight lost journey. It's my Life in the Skinny Lane. I don't update it very often, probably only once or twice a week, but it'll give me a place to go back to to see where I started and where I'm going.

I am doing a mini, at home version of the Biggest Loser with a group of moms that have little ones around the same age as Kyndall. Remember the group that I went to the zoo with back in April? Well, its that group of moms.

Feel free to check out my other blog if you want.

Thoughtless Thursday

It's that time again, time for Life in the Fulmers Lane's "Thoughtless Thursday." I know I've been slacking in the blogging world, but sometime real life gets in the way.

Anyways, this picture is pretty self explanatory.

After a long day of birthday partying, window blind shopping, and playing outside with NO nap, Kyndall decided dinner time was a good time to sleep.

Shortly after this picture was taken, we moved her tray to the ground so that she could get up and play and eat at the same time so she'd wake up and stay awake until bed time.

Votes for Kyndall

Kyndall needs your help! Go to Photography by Jaren, "like" the page, go to the Last Days of Summer contest album, and comment vote under Kyndall's picture. Please! Thanks!

Picture Me Monday

I haven't done this in awhile so I figured I would pick it back up!

Saturday, we went and got some BBQ and picked up a coupon for snow cones so we got Kyndall her second ever snow cone, and the first time we let her eat it all on her own.

Needless to say it was pretty messy, and she was a sweet sticky mess!

Yes, that is snow cone juice all down the front of her shirt. Yes, her mouth is blue. No, it did not come off with just a baby wipe. Will I do it again? You betcha! (I like snow cones too much not to!)

Day 2

Chad and I did day 2 of our 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels tonight. It was still hard, but we were able to move a little better after the workout. I guess that means it was easier and that there is hope that it will continue to get easier.

I hope I have the strength and determination to do the next 28 days of this workout!

Am I insane?

So Chad and I have decided its time to really get our weight under control and back into some sort of shape(other than round...) so we got a yoga ball with a DVD, a 4lb medicine ball with DVD, and this:

Let me tell you, it's INSANE! I have heard good things from people who have done it so I'm hoping that at the end of the 30 days, we'll look and feel better. Hopefully, we'll actually be able to do the whole workout. It's only 20 minutes a day, but when you're as out of shape as I am, and as hard of a work out as it is, 20 minutes seems like FOREVER!

Swimming!

Ok, so I know I've been slacking some in the blogging department the last month or so, and I apologize to any of the readers I still have out there, but we've been a bit busy.

Busy with what you might ask. Well swim lessons of course! I enrolled Kyndall into a Mommy and Me class at one of the city pools back in April, and it finally came time to start!

The class wasn't really to teach her to swim, but to teach me about water safety and how to hold her in the water properly. Her favorite part was "talking to the fish," aka blowing bubbles.

Here are some pictures from the last day:

Getting ready to blow bubbles!
Kicking up a storm!

Going under the rope from the deep end(like 4'6") to the shallow end(1'6").

All in all we both enjoyed it and had fun. I really hope we get to do it again next year, but I don't think we'll get to do another class where I get to be in the water with her.

19 months and some change

July 30, 2009:

So I missed Kyndall's actual 19 month birthday...oops! We went to the Great Texas Balloon Race that day.

We weighed Kyndall on the Wii, and she was approximately 20lbs 9oz. I am going to guess that she is about 32 inches tall.

What else has she been up to?

-She still wears size 3 diapers.
- She is still wearing 6-9 month clothes. We got a lot of winter clothes in the 9-12 month and 12-18 month size range. We'll have to get the waists taken in on almost every pair of pants, but had to go with the bigger size for length.
- She is now the oldest in her class at daycare, but is still the only girl.
- She has tried for the first time, both, pickled beets, which to my surprise she continued to eat after the first bite, and bacon, which she immediately took out of her mouth and stuffed an entire slice of tomato in her mouth. Not the reaction I expected.
- She took 2 weeks of swimming lessons, which she enjoyed.
- We tried to convert her crib to a toddler bed. That lasted one night. We promptly put the crib side rail back on the next night.

No matter how much or how little she changes in a month, I still love her no matter what!
