Little K is ONE!

Dear Little K,

Wow! You are a year old. This year has flown by way to fast. Seems like yesterday we were getting in the car to head to the hospital.

You came into this world at 8:06am on November 26, 2012 weighing 6lbs7oz and 19in long. You are now 17lbs and 28in long.

You are wearing size 2 diapers and 6-9 month clothes(with room to grow).

You started crawling one day shy of 11 months, after a month of occupational therapy, which you receive once a week. You also have SST, which is play therapy, twice a month. You will be starting speech therapy twice a month soon.

You don't say any words, but you let us know when you're happy, frustrated, hungry, sleepy, and hurt. You have started to stand with assistance for a few minutes, but you need help getting into the standing position.

You LOVE anything with pasta and Oreos. You apparently like beans too- you get that from daddy.

Your big sister adores you- for the most part. With you crawling, she does get a little annoyed sometimes when you start messing with her things. You, in return, seem to really love your sister- until she goes to pick you up.

This year has been filled with joy, laughter, tears, and challenges, but we wouldn't change it for the world.

I can not wait to see what God has in store for you in the future!

One year ago today was my last day on BR after almost 13 weeks. It was the last day as a family of three. It was the last day Big K was an only child. I unpacked and repacked mine and Little K's hospital bag 3 times, had C check the car seat probably more, made sure everything we needed for the hospital was together and by the door. I watched C put everything in the truck one by one. I made sure Big K's clothes were together for school the next morning and that her big sister shirt was ready to go after my mom and brother picked her up from school to come see her baby sister. My emotions were all over the place, much like they are today. (I've cried at least 3 times already today.) While BR sucked, I'd be willing to do it again. I don't know if it's because I know so many people who are pregnant or just had a baby or if it's the fact that I've always wanted 3 babies, but my heart is heavy, like there is a hole. Little K has blessed us beyond measure. We've had our challenges- weight issues at the beginning and now developmental delays, but she's my baby, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't believe it's already been a year!

Save the Babies and Win

The March of Dimes is a organisation that is very close to my heart.

Big K was born 6 weeks early do to pre-eclampsia. We were blessed that she was born healthy and the only issue she had was maintaining her body temp. Little K was born at 39 weeks, but that was only after 12 weeks 5 days on bed rest due to signs of pre-eclampsia showing it's ugly head.

While we did not need the help of the March of Dimes, they would have been there if we had needed them. Because of this, C and I (ok, more me than him) decided that we would support them each year as they help thousands of babies a year. If you think about it, you probably someone who has needed them.

Now, for the fun part. For every $10 you donate between now and Feb. 28, you will earn one chance to win the movie Peter Pan on DVD.

You can donate by clicking on the March of Dimes widget on my sidebar or by clicking here.

Valentine's Day

I've never been a big fan of Valentines Day. Not sure why, but I just haven't.

Today I took Big K to her party at school. It was also her last day there. She starts a new school on Tuesday.

Then I went to the gym while C was at an interview. For dinner tonight, Chick-fil-a.

Here are some pictures from the day.

Popple's Birthday

Today would have been Popple's birthday. We went out to the cemetery to place flowers and release balloons.

Big K drew a picture for him which we attached to the balloons so that they could take the picture to Popple in Heaven.

Little K has two middle names. Her second one is in memory of Popple. His middle name was Neal so we added a "y" to it to make it more feminine to make it Nealy. When we put her down beside the marker, she smiled and cooed and was as happy as could be.

Popple's two great grand babies.

Big K had a really hard time leaving. She kept running back to say bye. It broke my heart to see her that way. I think we may try to go out there more regularly to keep up the site and let Big K have some time with him.

2 months

So I'm a little late in posting this, but Little K is 2 months old!

Her 2 month appointment is tomorrow so I'll know more about how she's growing then. I'm hoping the weight issues we had at the beginning has completely resolved itself, and she's gaining well.

UPDATE:

Little K had her appointment today. She weighed in at 9lbs6oz(14%) and is 22.25in long(43%). We also got a prescription for Zantac.

She is wearing some newborn and some 0-3 month clothes and still in newborn diapers. She'll go down for bed sometime between 9 and 10 and *normally* doesn't wake up until between 3 and 5. She'll let you know its bed time. At almost straight up 9:00, if we haven't already started the bed time routine, she'll start fussing. It's actually quite funny. Guess she likes her schedule! She is smiling and starting to "talk" to us.

We took her swimming the on her actual 2 month birthday. She enjoyed it, until it was time to go.

I can't believe my sweet baby is already 2 months old! Time really needs to slow down!

Zoo

Back before Christmas, we took the girls to the zoo. Little K slept the whole time, but Big K enjoyed it.

They were doing crafts with the kids. She had a really good time doing those.

We must have gotten there pretty close to feeding time because the big cats were pretty active. They were all right up against the glass pacing.

Standing like a flamingo.

Standing in the elephant foot print!

Little K all snug in her wrap.

Sic 'em Bears!

Big K's favorite animal is giraffes!

Feeding the fish and ducks with Gma and Gpa.
