Happy Un-birthday
Goodness! Where did the time go? Kyndall is 6 months old, half a year....thats INSANE!
We went to her 6 month appt. on June 30th(while daddy was in the hospital so I had to go by myself). She weighed in at 13lbs even and was 24inches long. She has gained some weight since her 4 month but only grew an inch. Her weight and height are still in the lower 5th percentile, but her ped was fine with that because shes still growing.
Kyndall has started to get pretty good at sitting on her own. She is also getting up on all 4s and rocking...won't be long now!

My sick baby
Well, we keep reaching parent milestones. We made our first middle of the night ER trip with Kyndall this morning.
She started fussing at around her normal time of 12:30ish, and I went in to put her paci back in-which she will normally go back to sleep afterwards. Well, she didn't and she started coughing pretty strongly and sounding like she was gagging so I picked her up to help get the gunk out of her mouth.
Well, I put my cheek on her head, and it felt like it was on FIRE! I felt her tummy and could feel the warmth through her PJ's so I took her temp. It was 102.1! SCARY! So I go to our room and wake Chad up and tell him we need to take her to the ER.
We got there and got in in like record time! They took her temp and it was 101.1 in triage. We went back to a room and told the nurse and doctor what was going on. The doc checked her out and said he heard something in he lungs so he wanted to do a chest x-ray...not easy with an unhappy, tired, confused 5 month old! Luckily the x-ray came back clear. They have her some Tylenol and rechecked her temp about 45 min later. It was up to 101.3 so they gave her Motrin. About 30 min later they rechecked and it was down to 99.7 so they decided to let us go home. They prescribed her an antibiotic and told us to keep an eye on her and to follow up with her ped on Monday.
That was super scary for me, and I think I cried more than she did cause I was so scared.
She still doesn't feel good and is fighting off a fever. We called the on-call ped nurse and told us what to watch for and when we should go back to the ER. I'm really hoping things settle down. I am calling Dr. Hudson on Monday morning!

Daycare
So after being watched by a private sitter since February 23, Kyndall is starting daycare tomorrow.
She will be 1 of 4 and the only little girl in her class. Two of the other little ones are also starting tomorrow and the other has been there for 3 months already. She will also be the youngest LO in the center. (They don't take little ones until 6 months, but because she turns 6 months in June, she was able to start)
I'm nervous because I had really just got comfortable dropping her off at the sitter's house. However, the room she will be in is the same room that she is in on Sunday mornings for church. (In fact, I saw her name above her bed this morning when I dropped her off in the church nursery.)

My little girl is growing up
My little girl isn't so little anymore. Well, at least not compare to when she was born.
In the past couple of weeks, we have introduced rice cereal to her diet-which she seems to be doing OK with. I think we are going to try green beans Thursday.
We have moved into size 1-2 diapers-mostly because we ran out of size 1s and we have close to 600 size 1-2s. She is wearing 0-3 month clothes better. Some are still a little big, but she is starting to fill them out. The biggest problem with newborn clothes is that she is starting to get to long for them.
She has started grabbing for things. Tonight she was leaning forward in her Bumbo and was able to pick up her paci off the bed. She is also taking things straight to her mouth! She is chewing on any and every thing.
She has mastered rolling from back to tummy but hasn't really figured out how to go back. Sometimes she gets frustrated and falls asleep. Speaking of sleep, she has almost cut out her late night/ early morning feeding. She has slept for 9+ hours straight several nights in the last 2 weeks.
I can't believe she is almost 5 months old! Where did the time go?! I am going to have to put her back on the Wii Fit board to get a weight check on her, but I'm pretty sure we have past the 11lb mark!
