Bed Rest with a 3 year old
I have had several people ask how Big K is handleing momma being on bed rest so I figured I'd tell yall.
The first two weeks were the hardest. I was put on bed rest and taken off work on a Wednesday. Big K had gone to school that morning and depening on how the appointment went would determine how long she stayed that day since I didn't have to be at work until 12. (Some background: I work at the same school Big K goes to.) Pretty much everyone knew what happened at the doctor when we picked her up from school before 11...
Because of the prior arrangements we had made if bed rest became a reality, she wasn't going to go back to school until the following Tuesday. That was 5 1/2 days at home. During that time, C worked 3 days. There were several tears, fits, and bits of confusion on her part during this time.
Once she was able to go back to school, things got a little better. She goes 2 1/2 days a week, and those are the "active" days. One day she does gymnastics at school, then music and chapel, and then works on gross motor skills. We have also signed her up for gymnastics one day a week. She also has Awanas on Wednesday nights at church.
My mom was gracious enough to move in with us during this time because I can go from modified bed rest to strict bed rest at any given time. My mom has been a big help in keeping Big K entertained. She tries to take her places through out the week on days that C is at work or when she doesn't have school.
So there you have it. Our bed rest experience with a 3 year old.

Dresser ReDo
C and Big K took on a Sunday project yesterday. They refinished a dresser.
This was my dresser growing up, then my brother used it for a bit, then it got moved to Big K's room until recently, and now its going to Little K's room, so it's at least 29 years old. However, it needed a face lift before it was nursery ready.
Before:
C and Big K sanding it down.
C starting to put the new color on.
Big K decided she needed a dance break while daddy was working on the big part.
Big K got in on the painting action when it came time to paint the drawers.
Add a second coat and some new drawer pulls, and you've got a new dresser!
Now, to get the crib, and rearrange the room a bit, and things should be ready when Little K makes her debut.

A late 31 week update
(31 weeks 5 days)
So I'm a little late on the 31week update. Oops.
I went for what we thought was my only appointment on Tuesday, which we had a NST done. We passed the NST and didn't have to go to sono! She also told us before we left to schedule a BPP and another appointment for Friday. So much for only one appointment.
Friday we went for the BPP. Little K passed 8/8 so that was good. Both of the 31 week appointments went well.
I go up to the office 3 times this week, but that's mostly due to scheduling conflicts. I see the doctor on Monday and Thursday and have a BPP and growth scan on Wednesday.
I also have my work shower on Thursday. I'm super excited about that! It's been almost 6 weeks since I've gotten to talk to some of my coworkers since I'm still on modified bed rest. My doctor gave me permission to go to the shower as long as I was relaxed and didn't do much.

Bringing Home the Browns
The family in the above picture needs our prayers.
While the husband was deployed in Afghanistan, his wife, 34 weeks pregnant at the time, went to the hospital for a headache and back pain. She ended up having a seizures due to a brain bleed. As a result, the baby boy had to be delivered immediately via emergency c-section.
All this while dad was over seas. It took him 72 hours to get home.
Dad is home, baby boy is thriving in the NICU, but mom is in a coma.
Here is the link to their Facebook page so you can keep up with the progress and to let them know you're praying for them.
